This Ringo is the third of the autographs I have that were obtained by a collector in-person in the 1980s.

I am as confident as one ever can be that this is real. I actually like the inscription more than the signature itself. I have no idea what Ringo had to be thankful about but I do know that the collector was a professional celebrity photographer and that he was keen to meet the people he photgraphed and get their autographs. Perhaps he just did Ringo a small favour like recommending a restaurant.

The autograph was displayed up to the collector's death in 1990. Although I acquired it in 2012 I doubt that it was displayed in the meantime. I'm saying all this because the autograph seems to have faded a fair bit. This would suggest that it was signed in the early rather than late 80s. Obviously I'd much rather it wasn't faded but that's life. Red ink is very sensitive to light!

For ease of reference here are links to the Paul and George autographs from the same collector. I also attach a copy of the Ringo for enlargement purposes.
