Hi Guys

I'm new to the collecting of autographs and would welcome advice on the following please. What I want to do is obtain photographs from the likes of Google Images or Yahoo Images and getting them printed by a 3rd party ( Aldi, Lidl ) I have seen previous results from a friend along time ago and they were fantastic however I've had a go and despite an online warning they all came back blurred! Unfortunately I no longer have contact with my friend therefore if someone can advise where I'm going wrong I'd appreciate it. I tried various size of image, as high as 6 mega pixels in some cases but to no avail, I'm not doing it for financial gain but I do attend sporting events regularly and I'd just like to start my own small collection of signed photographs if at all possible. Many thanks

Thanks for your reply. I'm happy that in this case Bob Bogle is dead so no one is going to reproduce my photo with an autograph!

I have many great photos on Flickr and I'm always waiting for someone or some agency to ask for reproduction rights. Years go by and nothing.

I was asked by a British fellow for permission to include my photos of The Ventures in his small music magazine. I gave him the right and sent him copies of my photos. In return, 'cause payment was out of the question for his small amount of subscribers, he sent me a copy of the magazine and I was thrilled enough.

I had a funny moment a few weeks back when I saw someone had taken the photo I'd taken of Bishop in Milwaukee and posted it on Instagram (which I'm not on but check for updates, as I run a Twitter fan account). I was briefly a bit miffed, until I realized that the poster was actually one of her band members.

I've contacted several photographers in just the last few weeks. Some for information, some for identification, and some for use/custom prints. And yes as you say, simply asking often leads to a "yes" :)

This came up earlier in this thread, and in another someone had some NOT Howard Hughes photos and was trying to exert full control over copy images.

I just send an invoice to the head of whatever. Every day. Never failed me. I saw a book frontis piece stolen from a design of mine by a Nat'l Museum. Invoiced the museum director every day - have fun - increase the number... You'' get paid. At least double your normal usage fee. I hope your situation resolved.
