Hi guys, I am considering pursuing an expensive autograph through an upcoming Alexander Historical Autographs auction. I just wanted to get some feedback and reviews on their auctions regarding authenticity. Do they have a good reputation? Has anyone had an issue with authenticity to where they had to make a return? If so, did it go smoothly? The item that I am looking at specifically is an Adolph Hitler signed document.....do they have a good track record with his autographs? Thanks in advance for any info that you can provide.

LOL In first place Steve, if I bought from Moments in Time I would have to pay them up-front.  I'm not a company.  Alexanders could solve this problem.  They could reveal who sent them the autograph. If I was in charge at Alexanders I would be pretty ticked-off that Gary was saying, in effect, their not honest!  If I was Alexanders I would be on the phone to Gary and ask him why he is blaming them.  You know a lot more about Alexanders then I do,  obviously.  They may be the most honest company around.  I'm not blaming them.  My guess is the Gary had them auction it off. but they know if he did or not.  And their keeping that info to themselves.

In the nearly year or so since I originally started this thread, I have purchased two Hitlers and a Himmler from them, and they all passed PSA/DNA. I have called them on a few occasions to inquire about their items and they have always been friendly and had immediate answers for me. My personal experiences with them have been very positive.

Joe,

Auction houses typically keep the consignor and buyer confidential.

I don't understand why Moments in Time doesn't pay you. Based on what you said, they out and out purchased it from you. It doesn't make sense for them not to have paid you right away.

Ironically, I was just reading about Moments in Time. They're selling Al Capone's first arrest record for $195,000.

Well I can understand they're doing that as a general rule.  I don't think Alexanders did anything wrong but if your rep is on the line one would think they might wave that rule. And since Gary has said their not honest I think that should be enough.  Just a thought.  I think the problem with MIT is that all of the very fine and expensive things they have don't belong to them. You would think that coming up with $450.00 wouldn't be a big deal for Gary.  I mean he did get about $270.00 from the auction for the autograph.  LOL

In a follow-up to the above, Moments-In-Time has paid me for the autograph I sent them.

That's great news. Thanks for letting us know.
