Alison Doody opinions

Hi, I was never sure if this (the attached) is a real one.
Anyway, I might look to replace it or add another one, as I don't like the pic and the autograph is pretty dark.
How about this one?

A guy from the UK who checks autograph told me Alison Doody is rare and much thought after on James Bond and Indy Jones -does she do more signings lately (quite some on ebay).

I wouldn't own either. I don't believe either are authentic.

Alison has been very private due to a stalker issue, and she only pops up very rarely. She was in NY about 10-15 years ago and signed a handful of items. In the past couple of years she did pop up in LA once or twice and signed lots of material.

Small, tight, clean autographs is what she has signed since the 1980's right thru last year.

The one I own is from Ed Bedrick supposedly collected at the American Cancer Society Honors 03/16/1993

I checked him here and was under the impression he is a trustworthy seller :(

The signing looks much like the last example of yours but with the 'A' and 'l' seperated, not sure it that speaks for a fake.

I will contact him later seeing he is actively pariticipating here once his name comes up.

There are a number of well respected, high ranking members of ...this autograph organization or that. There are plenty of dealers who have stellar reputations who will be defended here and on other sites. Unfortunately....years in business have removed them from the actual field of obtaining autographs.

They rely on others to go out there and get the signatures that they sell. These well respected dealers are in this as a business....they are not studying the particular signatures over the course of 30+ years, they don't see the slight changes that signatures & signers go through. They take items at face value and sometimes trust the wrong suppliers.

No "dealer" is immune to this, that is unless they are personally out in the streets obtaining every single autograph that they offer for sale.

The best dealers do both, they are out there, and they rely upon the right knowledgeable people to tell them if something they buy is authentic or not.

No normal autograph dealer (or authenticator) can know every single autograph they sell, unless they specialize in just one person or band like Caiazzo or Sears.
