What do you tink of them? I recently purchased a guitar that was supposidly signed by all four memebers of Pink Floyd. I posted a photo of it here and was told they looked bad and also went through with three quick opinion servies online. All of which came back "Likely not Genuine" Art of Music will not accept these quick opions and will only accept someone with good credentials and someone that the court will recognize.

Can anyone recomend someone to authenticate this that is trustworthy and "court certified"

Did you ask them for a list of their list of "approved" authenticators? If you get this from them, please post the list for us on this website. We are very interested in hearing each and every one of them.

That's the same old BS we hear from the dealers who use forensic document examiners like Don Frangipani, Chris Morales, Drew Max, etc. These FDEs seem to be in the business of authenticating forgeries as genuine.

Roger Epperson has been approved by courts to testify, so ask if they'll go with him. Each court approves the expert witness each time.

Did your guitar come with any so-called independent letter of authentication?

They have not provided a list of people " approved" by them. But the owner said to let him know who I want to use and he "will see if we can find a nuteral person"

Roger Epperson is one of the pople that I did a "quick opinion" with and he said "likely not Genuine. Guess I will see if they will accpet him and ask Roger if he is willing to fill out their form they want me to get filled out listing the persons credentials.

My recommendation is that if they won't give you a way to reasonably resolve the matter, you should file a police report.

I think ill get a quote for a respectable and reputable "cort certified examiner"

Then send that quote to the Art of Music and tell them they need to reply back in writing that they will refund me 100% of my purchase pluss the cost of the authenicator if it comes back a fake..if they refuse file a police report then take them to court.

I already have a complaint open with American Express, but not sure how well those work.

Tell them your grandmother said it was junk. Living or dead, she would know just as much about authenticity as anyone in the state of Las Vegas.

I ended up contacting the Henderson NV police department and filling a official police report with them and forwarding that information to The Art of Music. I also filled out a mail fraud complaint.

I will be keeping this thread updated as new information comes out of this. I want everyone to know the truth about this and the outcome.

Good for you, Robert. And smart, because you have to file a police report and try to get a refund in order to get a theft tax deduction for what you lost. It's up to law enforcement to determine if a crime has been committed, though.

I know someone who bought a Beatles album from a charity auction in Las Vegas, sold as signed by the Beatles, that was supplied by The Art of Music. They paid in the $10,000 range for a US release album I believe there's only one known of. 'Nuff said.

I wonder how many people have complained to the casinos the galleries are in when they got stuck with forgeries. If the casinos have gotten a lot of complaints, there's a chance, albeit small, they could be held liable. High profile landlords like that make buyers feel more confident, which is what some galleries depend on in order to ply their forgeries.
