Just came across these on eBay. He has three photos signed by the mick. All seem to be a super reasonable price.

These are nice and all authentic. I will post them in the "Great Sports Deal" thread I made. Good find!

What worries me is that this guy seems to have sold 20+ Mantles at great prices.

I did notice Christopher has posted about a "Banana Mantle" forgery they sold before, but they have only sold that and 1 signed Mantle book in the past 6 months...

I am 99% sure this seller has sold many more Mantles than that. For some reason, I cant access their feedback.

They have sold a bunch of Mantles, but they were so long ago that the link to the auctions aren't available anymore.

I don't have a problem with any of these. The rookie pose and this one even have appropriate "darkening" of the blue sharpie on certain spots which shows its true age. Very nice pickup Mr. Zipper, I would not even have the slightest hesitation purchasing either of these.

The 3rd one is also authentic IMO, but if you were skeptical I would choose this one last just because the ink looks "newer", but if this is a forgery it's the best one I've ever seen and we are all screwed... Here's a couple no doubt authentics to compare:

Football Amy's item:

No doubt 100% authentics:

I don't have any concerns about any of the current offerings. You'll also notice the back photo marking and logo in the lower left are consistent with photos available in the 80s and early 90s.

Most modern fakes have blank backs and no MLB logo on the front so they can't be dated.

Agreed, I noticed that as well.

so are these possibly fake?
If these are real I'd like to pick one up.
They are authentic...the problem is that he has sold a forgery in the past

Looking back at recent sales, everything looked legit in my opinion. It's quite possible they unintentionally sold a bad item in the past... you'd be hard pressed to find a dealer who hasn't made a mistake before. Looking at the current offerings, they appear to be above board.

Any chance I could get you to add this to your 'great find' thread? It is my auction. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=221599...
