The seller of this Ann Margret 5x7 told me it was obtained through the mail in 1963.   Very shortly after this, she would likely have been unable to reply to all fanmail.

It appears to be her early signature before she changed her "t" at the end, but I was wondering if there is any possibility it could be Autopen?  I'm not seeing dots and there are ink trails in the paper.

Thank you for any thoughts... this is my first older ballpoint pen on glossy paper signature.  Her writing is typically so neat it looks unreal, so that doesn't help.

Early Ann, or Autopen?

Thanks, Greg

what a woman, this pose was a promotional image for the Elvis Presley film Viva Las Vages in 1963 Hard to say regarding if its a Autopen signature, however, my gut feeling is it looks genuine hand signed, but I could be wrong....great image of a very sexy woman...look at her on you tube type in Elvis Presley c'mon everybody she looks great

 Hello Greg,

I have this same Anne Margret photo signed in ballpoint. Sorry to respond so late it's packed away. I will search for it today.

Thank you for your responses!
Thank you for taking a look, Robert.
It won't break my heart if it is a autopen reproduction, because it's a cool photo of Ann for under 12 bucks.
I found a 8x10 of this image on the web made out "To George".
How did you obtain yours? Mine came from Ebay. The seller normally deals in vintage photos, but not signed items.
Thank you again,
Greg

Hello Greg, I found mine.   I purchased it along with some other items 20 years ago. Yours and mine are identical except yours appears to have different ink. Mine does have pen pressure but it appears to be the same pressure throughout so I'm thinking stamped and preprinted. What a great shot of her and at 12 bucks-that's all day long. You Could pick up A cut signature and Matt it with this vintage photo-Would look awesome.

Good luck

Thanks for the answer to this mystery, Robert!   I would have known it to be a reproduction if the ink were smoother like yours, but mine really gives the illusion of a ballpoint pen... but still a little too even looking.

Thanks also for the pairing advice.   I've noticed she has been a very generous signer over the years and there are many options out there that will not break the bank.   This has been a lot of fun to investigate!

Thanks once more!

No problem, I love the investigating and researching as well-even if it leads to discovering what I have is not authentic.
I love the original photo just the same.
VIVA LAS VEGAS!
