The Authentic Experience

Gangsta Nash seems to be going down the hopper!

After reading this recent NY Daily News article  it seems that many of the attributes found in some of the dark side of the force characters we hear (way to much and unfortunatelY) from;

Peter J. Nash loses 45 percent ownership of 1912 Red Sox World Series Trophy.

Fraser and Koch-Fraser filed the lawsuit in December 2010 after they say Nash demanded the couple sell them the trophy he helped them buy in 2001. When Fraser and Koch-Fraser refused, according to the suit, Nash threatened to “send somebody to break your legs.”

Peter Nash has written some articles about autographs missing from the Baseball Hall of Fame, New York Public Library and other institutions that are well written and appear to be well researched. He's written some good authentication articles, too. I don't trust those as much, but in some cases he's clearly right.

The reason I don't cover HaulsofShame.com articles is that I don't know how much of what he writes I can believe. He has a major agenda and hit-list. Where is the line? There's a new Peter Nash discussion on Net54.com that shows why I'm concerned about him:

You're right, Steve.

Nash has written some strong articles.

But the adage is true: actions speak louder than words.

Beyond the judgments and verdicts against him, Nash does have a vendetta against Barry Halpern. And I believe Lifson liquidated the Halpern collection, so there's a reason Nash would have been after him.

Without taking a position on any questionable items, I can say that Barry Halpern was a very nice guy.  I was fortunate to have been in his home and seen much of his collection. It doesn't appear he had any financial motive to fake any items.  If that happened , it happened for other reasons.

It should also be stated and verified that Koschal et all. Support Nash and his site as well.  Hmmmmmmm!

You definitely were fortunate if Halper invited you to his home to see his collection. If he purposely misrepresented any items, perhaps it was for ego's sake.

I came to a realization about autographs a few years ago:

For some it's a hobby. For others, it's a personality disorder.

Steve...who said anything about being invited?

I broke in.

:)

I see you're one of the others. ;)

What goes around comes around as the saying goes...

if Koschal is for 'em then I'm agin 'em.  Vendettas s/b left only in the hands of capable italians.

Then are you "agin" Richard Simon? AA likes him. I like him. He's a good guy and a good sports authenticator.

I'm agin anyone that endorses Chief Pogo, A/Alert or " is the opinion of experts" type statements in exposes where there are significant writings on the errors of others or "We consulted with another expert we respect" but one has no idea as to who or what credibitlity they have in the grander scheme of things.

If simon believes A/Alert & Koschal are above board then I'm agin 'em.  Plain and simple.  You pick and choose your associates.

But that's not what you said. You said just the opposite:

if Koschal is for 'em then I'm agin 'em.

Touche... and vice versa... perhaps more the versa than the vice'  Since Articles written by A/Alert are really not known with who is writing them, regardless of suspicions...

otherwise, AA might start supportinjg you.. and would that be a vice or a versa?   And we are straying from the posted subject.

Richard Simon is probably THE ONLY guy who is above board and routinely comments on blogs including this one.

The fact that he is respected bt the Clown Posse and this board as well as many collectors speaks volumes about 1 thing...the most important thin...HIS INTEGRITY. He has it. The other two clowns you speak of can't hold his jock strap when it comes to class and have NO INTEGRITY and just spew nothing but venum depite their credentials. I think they may have all been partners in some venture MANY MANY YEARS AGO before Koschal and Frost "jumped the shark".

Yes, it would be nice if these 3 fellows, yourself, Steve, Chris, John R, Roger, Travis, Grant & Todd could all take up the same cause. Unfortuanately there are way too many hurt feelings and the 2 factions are simply out of control. It makes me sick that between all the great people, who know so much, spend so much time on BS. Both sides have their points , but I have great disdain for the clown posse as they will not jump on board against ALL FORGERIES unless it fits their agenda and that what's really so damned unattractive about them and the stories they tell.
