Because the majority of Jimi Hendrix signatures on the market are forgeries (inscriptions or not) and most of the authentic Hendrix signatures I've seen over the years are inscribed to someone, or contain additional phrases of some kind.

There's plenty of authentic Hendrix graphs floating around. Just do your homework if your going to buy one and cross check with as many people and experts as possible. I bought one last year.
