Inexpensive Authentication Service?

Can anyone recommend an the most inexpensive UACC authentication service that would provide a verification letter? I'm trying to get a refund for 3 signed cards/album pages, but it would hardly be worth the money to pay large fees to have it done.

Any suggestions?

What is the criteria - that is, what is the seller asking for? Sounds like he's trying to make you play games when he should be issuing a refund.

an opinion from a UACC dealer stating in writing that the piece is not authentic,

hand signed on their letterhead

Weird request, considering that those dealers are all over the place. I'm guessing the seller isn't particularly sharp.

Outside of a couple specialists, I don't think anyone really regards many of the UACC registered dealers as premier authenticators - if any. I'd start emailing a few and see whoever will do it cheapest. And I would avoid that seller in the future.

What were the terms of the guarantee when you bought the autographs?

And have you shown the autographs here?

They had a lifetime COA for each piece. I've shown one here. The other two are a Lucy and a Gleason. Both secretarial from what I see. (I wish this site and similar research would have been available when bought them all those years ago)

The terms of the guarantee are everything.

Antiquities, for instance, offers a lifetime guarantee of authenticity (at least they did), but they required you to use a forensic document examiner. One can easily cost $250 an hour and the examination often takes several hours for one autograph.

At least the dealer isn't asking for that.

But if two are clearly secretarial, your job may be easier and it may cost you less.

Is the dealer a UACC Registered Dealer? If so, that could make getting this handle easier and less expensive.

Is it a dealer you've heard mostly good things about, bad things about, a mix, or nothing about?

I know...lots of questions.
