This item is up for sale on eBay, a vintage clothing tag with four Beatle signatures --

(you'll need to read the note in one of the photos regarding it's history)

I've done some homework, and there is a mention (only one though) of another item having come from the same woman's estate sale around 5 years ago, when that item was put up for bid on an auction site.  So there's one piece of the story that checks out.  She did have an extensive collection, and did, according to her daughter, get most of her autographs personally.

In the other item's case, it was a copy of the White Album that the late woman supposedly had signed by all four of the guys over a number of years, separately. And the signatures in a photo of that looked pretty convincing overall.  It was not however, given any formal COA at the time, just like this piece has not been.

Here, my opinion is torn --  the Lennon and Starr signatures look pretty good, but the McCartney less so, and the Harrison only resembles his writing in spots, but not much. The time frame given is 1966-1967 near the Apple studios; unknown if this was all one occasion, or separately.

You could argue that writing styles can differ just by what the person's leaning on, but even at that, I can't find any Harrison signature that looks anything like this one.  And that casts doubt for me on the whole thing overall.  It's obvious even the seller who has it now is not 100% confident.

Hoping a few of you can weigh in with some opinions.

Thanks!

Firstly welcome to the forum Patricia! Secondly in my opinion the autographs on the close tag are not genuine.

None of these signatures is authentic.

hi welcome not authentic imo

Hello welcome. Apple scrufs had trouble acquiring Georges signature around that period 66 67 and they lived outside the studio and homes

these are not authentic

Thank you!

Really appreciate everyone's feedback.  I had my doubts to begin with, as I said.

Strange thing to me is -  Do you suppose that a vintage tag like that one is actually ruined by having forged signatures on it, and may be worth more if it had been left plain?

The tag isn't worth much. There's currently one available on eBay in mint condition for $8 plus shipping.
