The Authentic Experience
Hello everybody,
please give me your opinion about this McCartney signature.
Thanks Michael

Permalink Reply by Brandon Mysinger on February 2, 2012 at 4:44am Exactly! The replies you received serve the exact same purpose as a COA. If the opinionators actually authenticated the signature on it's own merrits, then it will be as authentic 100 years from now as it was when they replied to you.
An email response from a well regarded expert is of equal ( if not greater ) standing than a simple COA.
Remember, a COA does not make the opinion of the expert become fact.

Permalink Reply by roger epperson on February 2, 2012 at 5:50am Please let it be known that I did not ever say he did not sign like this in 1989. I also did not give this a negative rating, what I did say was that I do not authenticate signatures that just say "Paul". There is not enough writing for me to make a 100% call. That is just my policy.

Permalink Reply by roger epperson on February 2, 2012 at 8:11am No I don't keep them that long but that was around the time I decided not to do "Paul" signatures anymore unless I saw it signed. Maybe it was this one that persuaded me to do this I don't remember though. It is just very difficult for me to give a 100% thumbs up with such little writing. If there is an inscription or some other writing like in your book then I will do it. I do believe that you sent this to RR Auction too if memory serves me right. I have told them and JSA too that I won't do "Paul" signatures anymore just like I won't do Nivana because of their first name only signatures. Some other bands that sign first names I will do but I have my reasons for these few bands. Hope this clears it up. I again have to say that if Tracks says it's fine it's good as gold in my book. They are as sharp as it comes. Maybe they knew who got it signed?
