Is JSA considered less than PSA/ DNA?

usually if there is a PSA or JSA sticker, I'll still get someone from here and nicely ask for their opinion before a purchase.

thanks for the reply Josh - I was just wondering if JSA is considered "as good" as PSA/DNA? or if its maybe considered "a little less so", (and no disrespect meant by that statement - I'm just a novice trying to educate herself) and it just seems that PSA/DNA - is considered the "Gold Standard"

For sports autographs I consider them as equals. Entertainment, IMO, is PSA and music I question if either knows too much. I don't know if I would consider one a gold standard...just my .02 cents!

yes..I get what your saying Mj Matt - its better not to just blindly follow them because they are both big authenticators and maybe its just better to assess 1 autograph at a time....=]

A few years ago I would have said they were fairly equal but now due to them both mass authenticating I consider both fairly awful.

I think they are close to equals. But between the two, talking strictly how they are perceived, I would say that PSA/DNA would be considered ever so slightly a hair better. If for nothing else, because JSA is sort of a spin off of PSA/DNA, with James Spence having once been employed by PSA/DNA. That's just my own perception. I may be wrong.

My opinion JSA is far less than PSA overall. Slightly less than PSA in the sports area.

When it comes to entertainment or music items both are horrible and authenticate tons of forgeries. JSA in this area seems to sticker anything much like GA. PSA stickers almost anything depending on who submits it. Many trusting these two will soon find out they have been had.

sounds like the best bet is to get the artist to sign something yourself ==>right in front of you (if you can) then there is NO doubt at all - I have a signed Bill Engvall poster and had a Carlos Mencia signature too,from a concert

It depends on what is being authenticated imo. Do you have something specific you want to get authenticated?

Like other people mentioned here, sports stuff they are pretty close. Entertainment neither are perfect, but PSA is far better than JSA. They both make mistakes, the authenticators are human, but if PSA gets entertainment right 80-90% of the time, JSA is likely below 50% .

PSA seems to do everything they can to put the right authenticator with the right item. JSA has capable people among their authenticators, but it seems like they constantly have sports guys at shows stickering celeb items without ever asking their entertainment guy's opinion.
