Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Lefty Gomez and Bill Dickey autos?? Found in a book bought from a auction opinions needed before I waste money sending them in please

Bought a group of vintage sports books and this paper was tucked away in a 1958 SI magazine. Anyone good with Ruth and Gehrig? Just dont want to waste the money to find out they are old forgeries.

It doesn't work that way, Nicholas.

Take the time to study autographs (the ones you're interested in).

Eventually, you will see things you never saw before.

I understand that and I have studied a few that I like to look for but I have to say this is only the 2nd Ruth I have come across and am just looking for a few pointers

The letter formations are off on the autographs.

By far the easiest way to tell is to look at authenticated versions of these autographs and keep in mind that the forgers are TRYING to make the autographs look authentic. To a novice, these may look authentic but comparing PSA/DNA or JSA authenticated versions will show a clear difference.

There are some very good forgeries out there that may trip these 3rd party authenticators up from time to time but these would be rejected at a glance.

Study exemplars of Ruth and Gehrig as they are the valuable autographs. By also signing Dickey and Gomez, the forger was trying to give credence to the 2 valuable autographs.

Keep in mind, this is just my opinion. See what others say.

For me, it is strictly "my eye."

Thanks guys! I have studied Mantle , Joe D and Some Ted Williams and feel pretty good about buying them but never have really sat and looked at Ruth, So this is prob going to be a great pc to learn from. Ok so Who is good with Obama signatures?????? I have stared at these damn things for 3 months now and still dont feel good enough to say ya or na.
