Mechanical Forgeries based on an Authentic Exemplars. Beatles, Hendrix, Bowie (based on a fake)...

Hello All,

We have just seen an another example of forged Beatles signatures created by a mechanical device based on a set of authentic examples. I have discovered the following Bowie. I have seen Beatles, Hendrix, Bowie...what have you seen created by mechanical means or other from authentic examples?

EDIT TO ADD: The "Bowie" used here is not genuine - this is the work of "UKBlue". It has been suggested this is a stamp because of the pooled ink and lack of flow lines..

who manufactures these machines
?

We don't know all the processes that are used. At one point, it was thought that the were signed by a mat cutter like the ones used by framing companies to cut intricate designs. They could easily be done by a plotter, or perhaps one of the new high-tech Autopens.

The people creating them aren't volunteering what they use.

so these machines are made at home instead of being bought prefabricated?

Sling,

I just checked the Thomas Guide and couldn't find the category "Forgery Tools & Supplies," so maybe so.

Actually, I think they're simply adapted from common equipment intended to be used for non-nefarious purposes.

Scary.

Indeed, very scary. Thankfully, this "Bowie" stamp(?) is based on a fake signature!

Even the amount of people on ebay , pre printing real signatures is enough to annoy collectors.
