The Authentic Experience

I was wondering if any of you have any feelings about the Michael Jackson autographs that are showing up on some pretty good dealers web sites? Todd Mueller has at least 2 new ones each week. I would love one in my collection, but my autograph paranoia kicks in. They seem to be around $200-$300.

Signatures alone run about $150-$300/Signed Photos $500-$1,000+/albums $800-$1,500+. The forgers keep getting better and better and valuable rock is hard to sell for good money without popular third-party authentication (PSA/DNA, JSA, Epperson), so if you buy it without, I'd get it authenticated right away. Tell the dealer before you bid that you plan to send it in, to make sure they'll accept the opinion of the authenticator for a refund if it doesn't pass.

PSA/DNA has a QuickOpinion service for $7.50 on eBay and $10 for auctions elsewhere, so you can find out what they think of a lot on the cheap before you bid. It's not the same as certification, but you get a credit for what you paid for your quickie if you upgrade within 30 days.
James- If you want to purchase legit Michael Jackson items you should come to our website. Julian's, the top rock 'n roll auction in the world offers items we have sold and typically get's 10 times more than we do for them. The reason for this is because they know what is real as do we and we just started this new venture on our website 3 years ago, after doing 7 years on ebay, and 10 previously in our auction catalog's. This is the third time we have re-invented ourselves and each time we do this we lose some followers and gain some more. In my opinion, and I believe your own, if you want to be totally confused and see in my opinion a bunch of silly Michael Jackson autographs simply go to eBay and type in Michael Jackson and than add PSA or JSA. If you think the same person signed all these than there is a problem. I strongly disagree with Mr. Cyrkin in this regard that PSA or JSA knows his signature. Test this for yourself by following my advice. Roger Epperson has passed many of the Michael Jackson items we have sold as obviously I have and many other top experts as we don't get them from one source but many from vintage to later in life. Everything we sell is guaranteed authentic forever unless a competent expert states otherwise. By competent I mean anyone competent. If you feel PSA or JSA is competent after looking on eBay under Michael Jackson PSA or Michael Jackson JSA and seeing some goofy stuff that the same person could have never signed than you, as our customer, could return it for a full refund. We may totally disagree for after all I am just an experienced expert but you would be my customer and I have a ton of respect for you if you decide to purchase a legit Michael Jackson from us, even if you disagree based off non-expert input. If you use an expert you will see they are legit. Best, Todd
I might add I do more research, more phone calls, and make more connections with people of fame, those related to them, those who worked with them etc, than anyone else in the world. I go after material from those who would have it while others judge what they see without knowing the provenance etc. This sometimes makes others envious while all the auction houses ask for our consignments and I mean ALL
Wow! I am really honored to have Steve Cyrkin and Todd Mueller answer my post. Not everyday you get feedback from 2 of the heavyweights in the autograph world. I really appreciate your responses!
I would say for every authentic example there are 10+ secretary versions and 50+ out right fakes.
DC, whoever you are. Are you stating every Michael Jackson out there is fake or secretarial and only 1 of 50 is legit? Would this include everything PSA or JSA has authenticated? Please explain who you are, how you came up with these percentages and what you base these comments on ie; experience or expertise or just made up statements. Thanks
