Opinions welcome.

Admittedly not sure about this at all. Thanks for your help. Regards, Rob

not authentic

Absolutely Not !!

I am not an MJ expert by any means but right away it looks wrong. To be safe I suggest you pass on it.

I wondered if it was or not - time to start the process of getting my money back and authentication from a professional so I can have the proof and get my money back.

When I bought it, I heard later on this company was dodgy so I shall not be going there again, any time soon but that was when I was a novice at collecting really. I've learnt much since then.

The way I see it is, if you get burnt, as we all have been at some stage, it'd be recompensated by another fabulous item in your collection which sort of softens the blow.

Anyways, you folks are the best and I am grateful for your help - time to get to work!!

Do you mind telling us the company that you bought it from? I don't understand why you should have to pay money to get something authenticated that you know is not going to pass the authentication process.

Because Travis they require a letter of authentication from at least 1 recognised body before they will give you your money back. I'm not sure I want to tell the name of the company here because it might be more trouble than its worth but after I bought the item, I was informed that the company was irreputable.

I'm sure we've all been done in the past so getting the money back shall not prove an issue - just dig out the certificate and get an authentication letter and that should be an end to that.

Anyways, thanks for your help - I think I might acquire a genuine Jackson through a reputable source and do my homework next time to boot as well. As said, I wasn't really knowledgable at the time and was a novice but have gotten better since then.

Regards

Rob

can you use Roger's quick opinion for 15 bucks?

I'd have to go onto the website I bought from originally and see what they require - I'm not sure what occurred with the original receipt but I still have their COA so that combined with the info on it should be enough but they could deny they ever sold it me.

I've learned though not to go through them in future but if I want an authentic MJ, I would go through Roger as he is the best in the business IMO in this area.

I am miffed I got done for a fake in truth but I'm not the first, nor shall I be the last. As I said, the way I see it is that one genuine cancels out a fake at that same value as my Paul McCartney has been authenticated here as genuine and that IMO is probably worth more than an MJ possibly, seeing the ten most sought after autos in the world.

I originally collected for investment potential but I don't now. I collect for the sheer pleasure of it as I want something to pass on one day.

Cheers

Rob

I agree, Travis. Most reputable dealers are willing to handle guarantee claims without having the customer send it to be authenticated. They reexamine the item, ask other dealers or experts for opinions, and if it turns out the autograph is questionable, issue a refund.

Sadly this dealer wasn't reputable, Steve. Case of lesson learned for me. I hate bogus dealers but we've all been done over, even the best in the business have been fooled so its a poisonous hobby at times.

You're right, Robin. Almost everyone's been had at one time or another...whether they know it or not. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
