I wonder what peoples' thoughts are on Pete Best's market value. He spent two years as a real Beatle - not a session drummer, not a replacement for eight shows, not a guy who lived with Lennon or McCartney, and not a guy who was in a band with Lennon or McCartney before they became the Beatles.

But, except for a demo track, he never recorded with the Beatles and wasn't part of Beatlemania.

So, do you think he is valued correctly and will stay at a low valuation, or do you think he will be worth considerably more in the future (on good items, anyway)?

Pete Best will always be a "foot note" in Beatles history. Maybe something signed by him with a strong Beatle connection(vintage) would be desired but, other than that, I don't see any huge swing in his value.

As I'm not a Beatles fan and have pedestrian knowledge of their signatures, maybe I'm not best qualified to say. But, from what I've seen since taking up an interest in autographs about 20 years ago, Best has signed up a storm and has always met (or exceeded) whatever demand there has been.

I think his place in Beatles/rock history is what it is, and I doubt he will grow more popular over the years - if anything, he might become somewhat more obscure as the decades move on.

I have a vintage 1962 signed on the inside of a cigarette wrapper by Pete Best. Frank Caiazzo gave it a value of $500 in 2003.
