I was shopping for a Christmas gift for my dad and I came across this auction on Ebay. It's for a Willie Mosconi autographed Billiards Ball certified by PSA/DNA. I doubled checked the PSA# on PSA/DNA's Certification Verification site and it came back - PSA/DNA Certification Number Q30547 was not found in the PSA/DNA Certification Database. So I called PSA and spoke to a CSR named Analisa. She wasn't able to find it in their database either and asked me to send them an email showing pictures of the item with the PSA sticker and/or certificate. She then told me that her office manager, who would be the one who would investigate it, was out of town in Chicago and wouldn't be back until Tuesday. I was surprised by that and just agreed to send the email and got off the phone. Well, the auction will probably be over by the time he gets back and has a chance to look into it, so I'm not really sure what to do at this point. The photos on the listing are kinda blurry, which isn't a good sign so now I wouldn't even consider buying it. Should I just send the email to PSA and leave it at that and let them handle it? Contact Ebay? Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I dont see anything wrong with the sticker or card. The fake psa stickers I see are missing the high white gloss to them , Which this one has. Also Ive never seen someone fake a psa cert for a small time item such as this ball. Ive mostly seen them for Michael Jackson .

Also the autograph looks authentic.

Psa authenticatros take time to put items in the system at times . Sometimes months. Its possible this one wasnt put in there database yet. Im sure once the guy gets back from chicago this will be put into the database.

Whoops. I'm pretty new to all of this and wasn't aware it could take that long to be entered in their system. With all the negative things I've heard and read about Ebay and the amount of fake autographs out there, I guess I was just being overly cautious/paranoid. I send PSA the email they requested. Sorry

I agree with Anthony. It takes time for PSA to input items into their database so I would not let that deter you from bidding.

I just hope the date stamp on the camera is incorrect! (1/1/08)

LOL... sometimes PSA never enters the numbers in their database... I did over 200 items with them in the summer of 2010 and now have about 100 left and never bothered to look if they were in the database... not a single one is... Now they want me to take a photograph of every item.. of the autograph... of the cert.. and of the sticker and email it to them to put into the database! Gee, thats what I paid you to do 2 1/2 years ago!!!! Never using PSA again. Paid about $4,000 for a bunch of stickers and pieces of cardboard! The database is worthless.

@ Jerry Badour, Was this issue ever resolved for you?
