Any thoughts on the book currently for sale on ebay purportedly signed by Thomas Jefferson?

I have some questions on the authenticity. The T and H look off and the dots are not correct. If it is not authentic it was done by a very talented early forger in what appears to be the iron gall ink necessary to pull it off....otherwise its real and rare as heck.

I agree that there appears to be too many dots but if not authentic this is a very good forgery

It's an early forgery, but inked long after the book was published. Compare the quality of the Jefferson signature to the rest of the ink present. It's badly feathered, unlike all the other ink, which was written in far closer proximity to the publication date than when the Jefferson was added, much later after the paper had dried out to a good extent. This feathering was also exacerbated by the pen remaining in contact with the paper for a protracted time, a too slowly rendered forgery. That's what's most disconcerting to me. A lot more than the technical aspects of a well-forged Jefferson, and all those extraneous dot "satellites" hovering within. :)
