I was looking at Mchalefamily when you asked about the Bob Sanders autograph, and my impression is that he doesn't have a clue what he's doing with autographs. Since "it has a COA" is about the most worthless insight you can offer about an autograph, it's a telltale sign he's just trying to dump stuff he bought cheap and either has no idea is fake (or possibly suspects so). The fact that he sold a Bill Russell for $12 is pretty conclusive that 1) It's fake and 2) the COA and original source were garbage. Look at his dirt cheap buy it nows for Stephen Curry and the Friends cast. No way.

The bit about "guaranteed to pass third party authentication" is likewise worthless, if not infuriating. It's an empty-headed bit sellers - even some good ones - put in their descriptions that is in no way a demonstration of confidence that an item is authentic. Furthermore, that comment is worthless because, should your item fail PSA or JSA, the worst this guy has to deal with is a return while the buyer is out of the authentication fees . . . assuming he will even accept the return.

Here's my take on the Sanders, with full disclosure that I've never looked at a single Bob Sanders autograph before: It's a questionable autograph from a questionable source whose origin and usage (i.e. "game used") cannot be validated. And it sounds like the seller hardly has the proper certification to prove or even suggest otherwise.

The other seller d.townsports is another story. A quick look through his inventory suggests this is someone who knows what they're doing and is a much safer bet. Any time I see a mixture of sports and non-sports, I get a bit nervous, but it does appear that he does get his autographs from solid sources, if not himself.

It couldn't hurt to ask about items on an individual basis, but that seller certainly seems to have it together.

I looked at bob sanders autos on line and it looks like his from that perspective but I have never done this before either.
