Are you talking about modern stuff I assume? I would guess that films like Star Wars and LOTR would be prime candidates. Might depend on what you mean specifically.

I once saw a fully cast signed, silver sharpie Godfather poster, including the signature of Richard Conte.

Conte died in 1975, before silver sharpies were invented. Somebody didn't do there homework, but the poster sold anyway for big bucks to some big 'collector'

No way! I would have figured that one out for sure. Godfather was before my time so I was not clear on the year it was made. That was my assumption as well that the silver sharpies didn't exist.

The poster was made to have you believe it was signed within the last 10-15 years, after sharpies were around. It had Brando, Pacino, Caan, and others. The Conte forgery was a mistake by the forger, who didn't know Conte had died that long ago....before silver sharpies

I think a Steven king cast for one of his most famous movies would be pretty cool.

He was and he wasn't. I figured out the error after looking up some of the actors and saw Conte's profile. The forgers still succeed because there was bidding war for it & the poster sold for over two thousand bucks

Oh man! You know what else is a huge bummer is when you have authentic mixed with non authentic and it's usually the best signature on there too. That would be a bad day to hear that kinda news.

Most serious Hollywood collectors will work on a piece like this for years or decades. To complete a full cast of anything is a real task, and they will never be cheap. Chances are very good that if it is a poster it will show the signs of travel and wear and tear of being unrolled and rolled repeatedly. Any crisp, flat perfect examples of a cast signed poster should be looked at with a great deal of suspicion.
Small posters signed at Comic con by 5 to 10 people for upcoming shows or movies still show handling, even in a controled environment.
Charity pieces or pieces signed by a cast or crew on set for promotional purposes may be in better shape than something that has been dragged into the streets repeatedly, but they should have the proper documentation to back them up.
There are posts on this site and elsewhere about all the fake "Premiere" signed posters with holograms and letters from the studio......avoid those like the plague.
Getting a serious collector to part with something that they have worked on for years will cost you, but just think about all the time and money you will save not chasing people around for the next ten years.
