I know some of the top authentication companies in the business are PSA, JSA, or ACE. Would anyone recommend any of these or is there someone better to go through?

Sports - PSA/JSA/SGC
Music - Roger Epperson

Avoid ACE.

Seconded - many forum members will also confirm that ACE is pure garbage and should be avoided.

Cool. I was thinking of going with PSA. It's for a Dale Earnhardt autographed photo. Thank you guys for your input.

Take ACE off of that list

Just show it here, I'll give you an opinion for free. If you decide you still want a COA, you will know if you would be wasting money or not.

Hi Alaine,

Brandon Mysinger is the way to go. And if he offered to give his opinion here for free, then you are in luck. Brandon is very well respected on this board, and i know of no other better than him with Nascar. And i dont know if you will find anyone else on the board who knows of anyone better as well. I highly recommend talking to him.

As far as ACE, my personal opinion is that i would never get an item certed by them for my own collection. I believe ACE is on the ebay banned list now, but i might be wrong on that.

ACE? Do you mean Ace Authentics or the tennis company? If you mean the tennis company, I don't think they do authentication, they just market witnessed signatures. If you mean Ace Authentics, they're worse than garbage.

So far, SGC has been okay. They've been authenticating signatures for two short of a period of time to really recommend them.

PSA is probably the best for resale value. JSA is second, but those who don't like JSA seem to avoid their items like the plague, unless super cheap.

For specific themes, you're best going with specialists:

Richard Simon (vintage baseball)
Roger Epperson (music; works with JSA, so basically the same thing)
John Reznikoff (politics; works with JSA)

ACE as in Justin Priddy. And yes they are on ebay's banned list. Just click on picture below to zoom in. You can also click on this link http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/autographs.html and then scroll down and click on Certificates of Authenticity (COAs) and Letters of Authenticity (LOAs).

Here is their website if you ever want to throw money in the garbage can.
