Hi - discovered a 1930 signed lettter by William Harley to a Harley club in Aussie.

Is it real and what could it possibly be worth - I wish to purchase but have no idea what it would cost and neither does the seller??

All comments appreciated.

Grant,

You mentioned in your post about your Led Zeppelin album that no one commented on this Wm. Harley letter. I think it just got lost, and because your original file was a .doc, some people couldn't open it. I resaved it as an image file.

I don't know Harley's signature, but I'm sure we can get feedback from others here. The letter looks original, so it's probably either genuine or secretarial, not fake. If genuine, I would imagine it would auction for USD $2,000 to $3,500+, depending on how desirable the content of the letter is in Australia. It may be quite desirable, because he is thanking the recipient for his lifetime membership in the Harley Club of Victoria.

I'll upload a few examples to compare it to in a moment, but I would say that if the ones I'm uploading are genuine, and it's highly likely they are, then yours is.

RR Auction sold this in 2007 for $2,600.

RR Auction sold this in 2007 for $1,302.

RR Auction sold this in 2005 for $1,330.

Thanks for the help in getting the image up Steve - I tried but had no luck  Appreciate not only that but also the forum and the site - gets some heated (and extremely useful) discussions going - loved the heston forum

regards

Grant
