Hi,

This is not strictly-speaking about autographs but I was wondering if anyone has had any negative (or positive) experiences in buying original art from Preston Hall gallery in Texas.

They hold several auctions each year and there are often drawings or watercolors "attributed to" artists such as Dali, Warhol, Toulouse Lautrec, Chagall etc.  Sometimes they are signed, sometimes not.  These tend to be minor pieces - preparatory drawings, sketches in books - that kind of thing (not originals of well-known paintings).

The site carries prominent disclaimers about authenticity not being verified by the gallery but many pieces still sell for thousands of dollars.

Any experiences to share?
