I got Anfernee Hardaway back today on a couple of real cool 1993 Classic Draft Picks 3x5 cards and a response from Derek Lilliquist that was gone 671 days! Never give up I guess!

I got autographs TTM from Barbara Eden & Steffani Brass. I had emailed Steffani Brass and she actually replied and then sent out the photo. I got Barbara Eden IP in Atlanta but had mailed a photo and request before that. So I have two!!! I also received 4 autograph photos of Honor Blackman. Two were purchases and two were free. There was some problems with my order and that's how I got two free and the pics personalized. It's a long story. But I am thankful.

The mailman dropped of a couple of ttm successes for me today along with some cool Listia auctions that I had won.

The ttms wre from WWE Hall of Famer Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat and former Nascar owner and drag racing star Kenny Bernstein!
My Listia winnings consisted of signed trading cards of TNA stars Abyss, Jay Lethal, Jesse Neal, and Mr. Kennedy.....Kennedy!
'Twas a good day for mail!

And Mark, I fully understand where you are coming from. But being a Braves fan, when I pay for an autograph, I try and get just more than the autograph. I like to chat with the athlete/celebrity, ask them questions about past influences, greatest moments, etc. If I pay $50 for an in person autograph, and get 1 minute or 2 of their time, I fell like that was worth it. Sometimes I get way more than that! When I met Tommy Hanson at BP Sports in Marietta, GA, (GREAT store by the way,) earlier this summer, there was hardly anyone in line or at the store when I got there. So me, Tommy, and one of his business partners, former Georgia Tech star and Cleveland Indian Scott Jordan, all sat around and talked pitching, hitting, toughest batters Tommy had faced so far, etc. for a good 5 - 10 minutes. I will forever treasure those few moments and remember how wonderful Tommy treated me and thought enough of me as a fan to spend time talking to me. I, too, remember the days of $5 autographs. Remember when Mickey Mantle would charge $7 a pop, any item? And the shear "outrage" collectors felt when Joe DiMaggio started charging the "rediculous" price of $20 for premium items like bats and jerseys? Man, those days are gone! :) I've asked agents politely why the prices have increased over the years, and they simply say because the demand is so great, and the player's time and schedule is so limited, and, there are so many people who get something signed at 1:00 p.m., then have it on ebay for sale at 4:00 p.m. the same day. Players get miffed about people making money off their name and not getting paid for it, so they feel X number of dollar amount is compensation enough. I look at it this way, if you REALLY want it, and HAVE to have it, you'll pay or do what you need to do to get it. Kind of like crack, only safer and legal. :)

Today's mail brought me an autograph of former Miami Dolphins safety, Dick Anderson. He signed for me his 2004 Topps Fan Favorites card. Dick was a great safety, and was a huge part of that great Maimi Dolphins defense that helped guide that team to the famous "17-0" record. I hope one day he gets the Hall of Fame recognition that he so richly deserves.
