The Authentic Experience
I thought I would try and start a discussion seein there is nothing in this group. I personally collect sports autographs mainly pro football HOF signatures. Out of the 260 HOF members (after this summer) I have items signed by 239. Totally I have over 1700 pro football HOF items. I'm lucky and live by the pro football HOF. My items include mini helmets, jerseys, player contracts, cards, GLA, footballs, pictures, index cards, tickets etc.
I started collecting the pro football HOF game programs and game tickets. I own a complete set of programs froim the original 1962 through last years games and game tickets from every HOF game including gem mint 1962 game tickets and another tough ticket for whatever reason 1970. No one can tell me why the 1970 ticket is so scarce but it is extremely difficult to find let alone in gem mint condition.
I try to get the signatures of the enshrinees on the program from the year they have been inducted and every program I have has at least one signature except 1962 which was before the HOF existed, and 1964 the first class was 1963 and my program is signed by Sammy Baugh. I don't have any signatures from the class of 1964.
My most prized items in my collection besides my programs and tickets are my near complete signed GLA card set, a Cleveland Browns mini helmet signed by 13 of the Browns 16 HOFer's. My signed and authenicated 1975 Fleer Immrotal card set. The set consisted of 84 cards with the possibility of 60 of the cards to be autographed. I have them all autographed authenicated by JSA and slabbed by Beckett with a good majority of the cards either graded or in the process. I have a number of images of my items in the photo area.
Now that I rattled off, what I collect what do the rest of you in our group collect?
