Jean, Mama Jean or ???

I've been told that this photo wasn't authentically inscribed and signed by either Jean Harlow or her mother "Mama Jean." Has anyone seen a similar example? Was Jean Harlow known to have used secretaries other than her mother to sign for her?

Hi Russell,
This example of a Harlow signature does not look familiar to me either. I've only seen examples done by her own hand or "Mama Jean". What is the provenance of this item?

Hi Irvin,

I saw this item listed in an online auction a few months ago and although I have owned one genuine Jean Harlow signature and several "genuine" Mama Jean signatures, this particular example didn't look like either one. I sent a scan to R&R Auctions and Bill White said that, in his opinion, it was a secretarial signature that he had never seen before. I decided not to bid on the item.
