My father was given this letter by Kennedy's Secretary, Evelyn Lincoln, after he interviewed her.  He would like to sell it, with it's original envelope included, depending on the offers he gets.  The letter was written while Kennedy was a U.S. Senator.  Pictures are provided for your convenience.  You can list your offers below if you wish, or send me a private message.  And just for kicks, here's a clip of my dad talking to Kennedy's secretary in their interview:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B37HGFBQWek

Hi. I may be interested in your letter, depending on the asking price. What would you like to get for it?

Our asking price is $9,500 with a little room to negotiate.  Some people have said that's too much, others have said it's about right but they just don't have the money.  My reply to them is that's what we've had it appraised for, and we're not in desperate need of money, so there's not much wiggle room on it.

It is worth about half of what you are asking. I am not interested.

By the way for those saying we're charging too much, his signature alone sells for around $2,000.  We're just selling what it's currently worth.

Since signed White House TLS sell for $3000-$4000, and signed photos go for around $4000, a fully handwritten signed letter I would say would be worth $7000-$10,000. But it's definitely worth much more than the $4750 that Dustin is suggesting.
I think it's closer to $4750 than $9,500. The condition is poor and was well before he was President. I purchased a beautiful White House TLS for under $2000. But at a major auction, I'm sure someone would over pay. I think it really depends on your market and type of buyers. Not too many on this forum are likely to overpay.
Getting a nice White House TLS for under $2000 is a great deal. It's actually under market value by a fair amount. I watch JFK auctions and prices quite a bit. I've seen several WH letters sell in the neighborhood of $3500. Not too long ago, I saw a signed "Young Democrats" business card sell for $2500 and an encapsulated cut sell for $2000. Sometimes prices can be all over the place, and if you're in the right place at the right time, you might get find a great deal, as you no doubt did. But that's not to be confused with what the market really is. Handwritten JFK letters are not easy to find, and they don't come cheap.
