The Beverly Hillbillies aired on CBS from 1962 until 1971 cranking out a remarkable 274 episodes!  The main characters were Jed Clampet (Buddy Ebsen) his daughter Ellie May (Donna Douglas), mother-in-law Granny Daisy Moses (Irene Ryan), his nephew Jethro Bodine (Max Baer, Jr.), his banker Milburn Drysdale (Raymond Bailey) and bank secretary Miss Jane Hathaway (Nancy Kulp). Those six appeared in every season the first four were all episodes and the last two in 247 and 246 respectively.  Harriet E. MacGibbon appeared in 55 episodes from 1962-1969 as Mrs. Drysdale.  Jed's cousin Pearl (mother of Jethro played by Bea Benedaret) appeared in 23 episodes from 1962-1967.  She got her own series Petticoat Junction. No other actors reached the 20 episode mark!

Irene Ryan although a Tony nominated performer and singer will always be known as "Granny" on the CBS television show "The Beverly Hillbillies."   The autograph is sadly a clipped signature probably from an album page or note.  The photograph shows Irene Ryan with actor Kenny Miller (of "I was a Teenage Werewolf" fame).  Mr. Miller told me that Irene Ryan was a wonderful lady who was like a grandmother to him.

Nice!

Thanks Mike.

Great pieces Scott

Thanks MikeP.

BUDDY EBSEN (1908–2003) will forever be known as jed Clampett and Barnaby Jones.  He was also in an episode of The Andy Griffith Show and The Twilight Zone.   He also was George Russell in the Davy Crockett series with Fess Parker.

IRENE RYAN (1902-1973) appeared in many movies including a humorous role in Blackbeard The Pirate.  Her portrayal of "Granny" was one of the main reasons the show was so popular.  Her autograph is somewhat scarce.  She died a couple years after the show was cancelled. I remember right afterwards she and Max Baer, Jr. did commercials for "Hillbilly" Bread.

DONNA DOUGLAS (1932-2015) did two episodes of The Twilight Zone and later Rod Serling's The Night Gallery.  Somewhat typecast as Elly May she only did a few guest roles afterwards.  She did appear briefly in the ill advised The Return of the Beverly Hillbillies in 1981. She was the only major cast member of the show that I was able to actually meet in person.  She was very friendly and said how much she loved doing the show.

MAX BAER, JR. (1937-     ) the youngest major cast member and last surviving.  His father was the boxer Max Baer and nephew of actor Buddy Baer (the Giant in Abbot and Costello's Jack and the Beanstalk).  Like Buddy Ebsen he also appeared in an episode of The Andy Griffith Show

RAYMOND BAILEY (1904-1980) a distinguished dramatic actor (often without his trademark toupee) he appeared in three episodes of The Twilight Zone.  He was in No Time For Sergeants with Andy Griffith.  In the 1950s sci-fi horror movie The Incredible Shrinking Man he played the doctor.  His is an uncommon autograph.

I have a buddy ebsen signed 8x10 and a max signed index card

Both Buddy Ebsen and Max Baer appeared in episodes of The Andy Griffith Show too!  Feel free to post any you have if you like.  I also have a Buddy Ebsen signed check from the 1930s.  Donna Douglas was the only one I was able to meet in person.

I've heard that buddy used a secretary through the mail
Any thoughts?
