About Me

What kind of member are you? (Check as many as apply.)
Collector, Fan
What would you like to tell us about yourself, your collecting, or business.
I am a huge horror/sci fi movie fan which has carried over into my autograph collecting hobby. I attend conventions where many of my autographs have come from. I did receive (and lose) many through the mail back in the 90's when I went crazy with writing to TV and movie celebrities; it was like Christmas every time I saw large yellow manila mailers in my mailbox. I have so many autographs that I unfortunately do not yet have the time to display them all. I really am into classic movies (especially from the VHS era) from the 40's thru to the 90's.
What is your level of expertise?
Intermediate Collector, Long Time Lover
Why do you want to join Autograph Live?
I was searching the Internet for an autograph comparison and stumbled across one of your forum threads. I ended up reading most of the thread before I realized I had forgotten what I was originally searching for. Very interesting site and wanted to read more but was required to sign up.
Who can we thank for telling you about us?
Google
What are your areas of interest?
History/Politics, Modern Hollywood and Stage, Classic Hollywood and Stage, Music, SciFi, Horror, Space/Aviation/Military
Why do you collect?
I really like to show my fondness for actors but probably more for their characters. If I really enjoy a movie, I want something personal to attach me to it.
What is your favorite autograph in your collection?
For nostalgia's sake, my first autograph...Roger Moore. Back in the 70's, I had a school project to write to someone that was influential to me. At the time, Roger was James Bond and loving those movies, I wrote to him using an address I got from a Who's Who set of reference books in our elementary school library. He replied to my request by sending a 5x8 BW photo signed with a ball point pen. I have it framed and displayed on my desk to this day. Otherwise, I LOVE all the autographs I've received in person.
You can ask anyone living or dead for their autograph. Who would it be?
Very tough question...like which child is your favorite. Immediately off the top of my head and without much deep thought and serious considerations (I also haven't had my first cup of coffee yet this on this very early morning), I would say Michael Moorcock or Terry Pratchett...two of my favorite authors.
