About Me

What brings you to Autograph Magazine Live?: I have a large collection of autographed portraits of movie stars from the 1940s and would like to sell them.

What kind of member are you? Industry professionals must use their real names and identify themselves as such. (You don't have to pick just one!): Collector

What do you collect, or want to start collecting?: Classic Hollywood and Stage

Tell us more about your collection, specific areas of interest, etc.:: I wrote fan letters to movie stars while in high school during the 1940s and received many autographed portraits in return. They include Ronald Reagan, Claudette Colbert, Jane Wyman, Paul Lukas, Joseph Cotten, Alan Ladd, Merle Oberon, Robert Montgomery, Cecil Kelloway, James Gleason, Walter Brennan, Spring Byington, Carl Esmond, Nancy Coleman, Jerome Cowan, Rosemary DeCamp, George Burns and Gracie Allen together, Gene Lockhart together with his wife Kathleen and teenage daughter June Lockhart, Fay Bainter, Walter Huston, George Montgomery, Mary Martin, Albert Dekker, Mabel Paige, Ruth Hussey, Mikhail Rasumney, Ann Doran, Paul Henreid, Geraldine Fitzgerald, John Ireland, Felix Bressart, Una O'Connor, and a very special Olivia de Havilland signed portrait with a signed letter saying she would be visiting GIs at camps for Christmas 1943. I hate to part with these but need to in order to keep my house. I am an author of 30 books for preteens and teenagers but the economy has
made it impossible to sell my new manuscripts.

What is your level of expertise?: Long Time Lover

What is your favorite autograph in your collection?: Olivia de Havilland for her signed photo and personal letter to me, and Una O'Connor who not only signed her portrait but wrote me a letter with it and then sent me a Christmas card with a note in it.

Why do you collect?: I love the classic movies and stars and supporting players.

You can ask anyone living or dead for their autograph. Who would it be?: Vanessa Redgrave
