Clara Von Hirsch silk fan
I have a silk fan from austria, end of XIXth century, designed especially to receive autographs. I have identified about a dozen signatures of playwrites, actresses, musicians,and composers, but the signature which stands out is that of Clara Von Hirsch, widow of the Baron, both benefactors of XIXth century jewish educational institutions and re-settlement efforts in America and the Middle East. I would appreciate any information on where this artifact could find a proper home.

- Clara Von Hirsch, the widow of Baron Von Hirsh, both of whom helped fund charities to settle Jews in America and the Middle East, and fund schools to educate the women and children.
- Why do you collect?
- This was left to me by my father, who got it while liberating western Europe from the Nazis. He sent it home to my mother as a gift because she enjoyed the theatre and this silk fan, he imagined, would be an item for high class ladies going to the theatre...a bit of wartime humour...
