The Authentic Experience

I was interviewed on a radio station last night talking about the death of Corey Haim. The subject went into childhood actors, and I mentioned the VH1 list of 100 Greatest Childhood Stars, and Corey was #26. The list is a compilation of a lot of trainwrecks -- either dead or drug problems, etc.

Anyway, I just now thought about the time the cast of Lost Boys (about 6 months ago), came to town to sign autographs. It wasn't Corey Feldman and Keifer Sutherland, or even Jason Patric. But the guy that did the music for the movie, and a lot of other cast members I wasn't familiar with. Haim was the only "big" name actor with them. I didn't go, because I just didn't care enough (and I'm one of the few people that felt the Lost Boys wasn't that great...although I do love Echo and the Bunnymen doing that sweet Doors cover of "People are Strange").

Apparently other cities hosted these events. Did anyone go? And how was it? I heard in San Diego, Haim had this huge fight with someone, and left mid-way thru.

TRAINWRECKS, is indeed the perfect word Josh. River Phoenix, Donna Plato, Jack Wild, and the list just goes on and on and on.....

Just a couple of tidbits , A copy of a script from the movie the Lost Boys went on ebay for a 150 bucks with copied signatures of the cast. When my wife and i saw Lou Gramm in concert a few years back someone brought a video of the lost boys for Lou Gramm to sign because he did one of the songs in the movie.

Interesting. Yeah, a horror convention would've been a good venue for something like that. Here in San Diego, it was at a tiny record store that has a lot of in-store appearances.

Haim and crew were at HorrorHound Weekend last year in Indianapolis. I wasn't there, but most people said he was one of the best guests. I believe there's even a video on YouTube where Haim and Co. broke out into an impromptu concert for the fans.
