Howdy all,

I was planning on attending the Chicago Comic-Con in August to meet my childhood hero, Mr. Ralph Macchio of Karate Kid fame.  I even began stocking up on items to have signed, but now I'm not going to be able to attend.  How on Earth do I go about keeping track of this guy's personal appearances?  I'm willing to wait (I've been waiting for nearly 30 years).  I'm willing to travel.  I just don't know how to get a good head's up as to when he's going to do a signing.  Is it feasible to contact his agent?  I'm not very knowledgeable about this stuff.  I'd rather not wait another 30 years, so any help at all is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I'd still like any info or suggestions here, however I'm going to try to make Comic-Con work.  I recently purchased two HUGE unused subway posters, from parts II and III, and I have a few more items that I'd like signed.

I didn't think he really did autograph shows until I saw that Wizard World listing for Chicago.  I guess the best bet would be to keep an eye on other Wizard World shows, and other cons and autograph shows like Hollywood Show (which does have a lesser Chicago version), Mega Con, Dragon Con, Chiller Theatre, etc.

Robert, what exactly is it that you want Ralph to sign for you?

I have original movie posters for parts II and III of The Karate Kid franchise, measuring 45" x 60" each.  I also have a headband I'd like signed.   He's charging $35 a piece at Comic Con, so it's not cheap, but the posters framed up will look amazing in my home theater.

45"x60"?   Nice.  You don't see a lot of two-sheets/subway sheets out there.  Good luck!

Hi! Go to his Facebook, and he occasionally will post if he's attending a premiere, film fest or something along that nature. I met him a few years ago and he signed a sake box that I had been signed by Pat Morita.

Sorry i missed this post I was there and I could have had everything signed for you. I know you would like to meet in person but it's always an option.

I have done this for other people on the site. I also try and get pictures if I can but not always an option unless you pay for it.

FYI, it's just been reported that he's going to be at the Chiller Theatre in NJ this October.

Thanks everyone.  In the end I couldn't attend.  My youngest son is a leukemia patient and my priorities often keep me from such adventures.  It looks like Mr. Macchio will be attending a couple of cons next year, so I plan on hitting at least ONE of them.

Also, thanks Chris Klamer, I would have appreciated that.  Did you get to meet him?  Was he nice?
