Glad you asked, Bryan. Get more votes, but I think it's one to avoid.

Here is another ball I had saved I was thinking of purchase of Joe D. What do you think of this one?

one of my biggest qualms is with exemplars and their interpretations especially by "lay"people which many of us are.  Some quite more astute and knowledgeable than others.  Then we have the studies that in some cases take years or the changes of a signature over time.

what does the collective think tank feel about the following Mantle Exemplars?  For simplicity they have a letter designate i.e. a, b, c etc..;

Great video.  I saw an old autographed Mickey Mantle Topps baseball card with DNA/PSA label on top for $200 at a local store.  It kinda looked as if the autographed came pre- printed.  I didn't look at it very thouroughly as we were in a rush.

I've seen the "Florida Ring" alluded to in a number of threads here and at Net54. How is it they are known yet still operating? Can someone provide more info either here or by private message?

Yes DB..."just  because it's "certified" it doesn't mean it's authentic"

Great words right there...I feel an autograph is a forgery until proven authentic...and not by a piece of paper...but by characteristics...

I also want to add I don't know how much stuff was and or is still in the market by Marino and the flip flop mafia...but Mariano does admit to signing a Million autographs...now how true and or fabricated that number is I don't know...but that was quoted in Operation Bullpen...and that's not just Baseball....that's all types of fakes...

I have no doubts and hopefully there was collaborating and supporting evidence to support the claim that GAI knowingly provided fraudulent authentications of this magnitude.

Over the years I have fondly referred to "guess"tamates of this magnitude as WAGs.  Then when science & forensics comes into play such as "the new black holes is 8 billion times larger than our sun" as SWAGs.  For those not familiar with the acronym that would be "scientific wild a$$ guess".

I don't doubt the significance and the video is informational and just enough to make everyone dangerous but to say "it needs authentication" is a bit much.  That does work however for the greater majority though who have no experience, desire or time to learn.  However, as we have learned just because it's "certified" it doesn't mean it's authentic as we have seen over and over again.

but in this video it would seem that PSA/DNA & Grad (even with the advertising" need to be congratulated for releasing a very good insturctional model.  And now like Heston onto the next "forgery flow" as the collectors unfortunately aren't the only ones listening.

DB, I was told 30,000 by someone at GAI, and I think they did more afterwards. The Marino stuff is based on what's been reported/estimated.

Steve, with all due respect you have no "evidence" to the exact numbers nor is there any substantial evidence other than speculation with regards to what was forged.

that doesn't mean that there wasn't substantial forgeries.   doesn't make you a bad person though :-)

DB, the Marinos (Operation Bullpen) easily forged 100,000-150,000 Mantles, Williams and DiMaggios.

GAI certified tens of thousands (if not 100,000 or more) different Mantle, DiMaggio and Williams forgeries out of Florida—the same source that these days are mostly certified by Morales, AAU/Drew Max, TTA and MIA Nicholas Burczyk.

Balls and signed photos. I hope Grad does a video on signed photos and bats, too.
