Your opinion on this Eric Clapton is much appreciated! Do you think it's good or bad?

I've attached 2 pics, and added 3 more below in the reply thread.

Thanks for helping!

I can't say anything from these scans. Sorry.

I could be wrong, but it looks like more an issue with ink placement rather than the image. The whole first name appears to be inked on a field that's just as dark as the ink. When that occurs, images are usually worthless. You have to handle it in order to allow the proper angle for the light to rake across to reveal the details of signature, not by color, but usually by differences in hue and texture. Especially when black ink on black print.

That's odd, because I can see the Eric part ok. Not great by any means, but readable when using my phone and zoom in.

I'll try upload a couple more. Unfortunally the seller is away, so I can't get any better pics right now.

Don't know if the attached pic is better when you zoom in!

ive don eric a few 100 times and his sig is tricky as it changes from full to short to scribble.hes Clapton as was a moody person

so all I can say it could be but I can say terrible contrast, thats the best I can do

how much are they asking

I can't add much - the "C" looks a bit large. I'd just pass.

Thanks Eric and John, much appreciated!

Unfortunally I can't get any better pics, the seller says he will be away until the auction stops. He has said that the signature is stronger in real life.

His stories seems trustworthy, but as you know that's not enough...

I will upload several others he has for sale and most of them he claims that he's gotten himself, just like the Clapton. If these ones are genuine, the chance that Clapton is too rises.

Thanks everyone for helping!

how much  did start the auction at

also what are u looking to spend on a real clpton

Not always. An item should be taken on face value. While it's helpful, an indication of probability that if some seller's wares look perfect, others stand a good chance of being good as well, many forgers salt the mines, mixing bad in with the good, the shill in that case for the sale of the high profit fakes. This has been common practice of forgers from long before internet sales.

Always best to concentrate mostly on the piece itself rather than the table setting.

+1 A common ruse. And yes, each on its own merits only. Again, good observations Woody.
