I bought this baseball from QVC in 1992. Attached are the original copy of the COA as well as pictures of the baseball. I've been trying to authenticate it by looking at other signatures Etc but I'm just not sure if it's really Mickey's signature or not. He was appearing live on the show the night that we bought the baseballs but I'm not sure that means anything. Especially since there's so many fake Scoreboard coas and baseballs floating around.  Can anyone tell me if it's a real Mickey Mantle signature? And, if its authentic, how much would it be worth?

I don't think so. Now I don't have Chris' and Terrier's eagle eyes for Mantle vibes, but this looks shaky. Hesitant, to me. I'd pass, but Chris or Terrier will be by soon to make it official. Those are two of the world's best when it comes to uprooting MM chaff.

Oh, that's the Mick alright. Authentic

I would have thought not based on the two dissimilarly shaped "M"s. The first one is that big, open smile, the second one a crescent, or "quarter-moon", and both executed with different angles.

If you actually bought it yourself from QVC, the Scoreboard COA is legit and so is the Mantle.

Like Woody said wait for Chris or terrier to verify, as I am a Star Wars and Celeb guy, but I would have no doubts on a Mantle I received from QVC directly in 1992.

Nice Ball, IMO. The signature is without a doubt authentic and the ball looks snowhite. I'd put value at 350-400, though I've been out of the Mantle buying business for sometime. If I was a buyer, I'd shoot for $250.00 as the 2nd m does show some shakiness. Still, It is signed with authority and speed as you can see by the skipping pen.

authentic Mantle signature

Thank you everyone who replied to my post!!  I'm happy to learn that, thanks to all of you, the Mickey Mantle autographed baseball I've owned since 1992 is authentic. However, since there's a suspicion when a Scoreboard COA is involved, would it be worth the time and expense to have this one certified by  JSA or a similar service in case I choose to sell it someday ?  Thanks again for your advice!!!
