John Lee Hooker autograph

Hello all,

I would appreciate other's opinions on this John Lee Hooker autograph.  The gentleman who has it says that he witnessed J L Hooker sign this photo.  He said that it was in his later years, and that he really didn't want to sign but reluctantly agreed to do so, and that it took some effort for him to complete the signature.  What do you all think?

this is imposisble to know////ask the guy whe nand wehr esigned...if he says he doesnt re,member he is lying--we all know where and when something we SAW signed was signed (maybe not exact date) but place....This looks FAKE t ome...I have a real 8 c10 that Carlos Santana got for me through his management (John lee Hooker ) and my 8x10 has many variables your photo does NOT..I SAY "fake" but I do not SWEAR this is fake--just OPINION.

David, it's not a fake. It's the later years and it's a real one.

ok..I never stated it was not real..I just did not know. I only have ONE JLH a signed 8x10 that I received thru CHIP a road manager for Santana..he said it came direct from JLH management. I can post the 8x10 later. It seems to match what has been posted here.

BTW...for some strange reason there are a few limited signed sketches by JLH for sale on the CSN website... they are not selling any signed CSN or CSNY items..but they are selling the JLH artwork .

David, what is Chip's last name? If it's the Chip I'm thinking about, he wasn't Santana's road manager. You've got me curious...

Its CHIP from near San Fran Northen CA ... dont want to post last name..starts with letter B .he brought me  to Santana hotel room  and on the Santana Tour bus aound 1990 era  and we rode with Carlos on the bus to a gig in New Jersey..he certainly was on the crew..  Carlos was one of the coolest gusy I ever met.

Yes, that is the Chip. He lives in So. Calif. now. Haven't talked to him in years. Sounds like a great time with Carlos. He certainly is a wonderful guy!

Hi Allen,

 I was Mr. Hooker's personal assistant for 8 years. I answered all of his fan mail as well. YES, that is 

an authentic signature! Here's a photo of me at an autograph signing at Tower Records.
