Cast signed Blade Runner movie poster, need opinions before bothering to ship to Authentication Service

These are autographs from a cast signed movie poster. I bought it about seven years ago from a company on eBay. I acquired this item when I was still new to the autograph collecting hobby, I'm still an amateur of course, but not as naive as I was back then.

Could someone please tell me if there is at least a chance that these aren't fake? If there is a posibility of them being authentic, then I'll ship the poster to a Autograph Authentication Service.

If you tell me right now that these are bogus, then I'll hit the old Jack Daniels bottle instead.

Do you happen to know where/when this was signed?  Kinda an odd assortment for a Blade Runner poster - especially Brion James who died over 10 years ago and it somewhat rare to see on Blade Runner items.  Usually you see people who make more the comic con rounds these days - Young, Turkel, Hauer, Hong, etc.

The Walsh looks a bit bizarre (a bit shaky at the end), but not necessarily wrong.  I think the Olmos looks okay, but I'm only comparing it against one other example I have from 2004.  Same with Scott - looks fine based on what I've seen in the past.  These are non-expert opinions of course.  ;)

Any chance that Sean Young and/or Rutger Hauer signed it?  I might be of more help then.

Thanks for your input. Yeah, there are more signatures on the poster, I'll add them to this Discussion in a few minutes.

According to the compnay I bought it from, they collected the signatures from press events in Los Angeles, New Jersey and London.

Is the companys name "Inferis" ??

More pictures!

James Hong

Joseph Turkel

Sean Young

Rutger Hauer

I have Hong and Young in person, as well as three Rutger Hauer autos from his website and I have some concerns.  Hong's handwriting is decidedly different on my photo, but it might have just been a different time, different circumstance in which he was signing.  Young looks a bit more rough as well.

Nice items, Rich! :)

I have two Hong signatures and one Hauer on 8 x 10's that I've purchased from other trusted sources (as I live in Europe, I probably won't ever meet a Hollywood celebrity in person), and the Hong ones do look a little different from the one on the poster. But like you said, maybe different circumstances make slighly different signatures. Perhaps the person was rushed, and not sitting down at a table, perhaps he was not feeling well, maybe even pissed off?

Possibly.  If Brion James really signed this, then it's safe assume at least a few of these sigs were obtained in the 90's.  James died in 1999.

I'm thinking it would still be worth it to send to PSA or JSA.  It doesn't seem to be an obvious forgery, so having them look at it wouldn't be a bad idea.

Yes, it seems like the right thing to do.

About the Authentication Services, where would you recommend I mail my poster? I mean, which company would have the best expertise when it comes to these particular Hollywood autographs?

Who cares? This poster is going into the bin tonight, I need the frame for something else anyway.

Thanks shedding light on this, as much as it hurts. I must admit, I have never fully let myself "enjoy" this poster because I have been full of doubts. I thought some signatures looked like they were done by the same person, but I didn't want to believe it. Maybe that's why I've waited so long to have the authenticity looked into. Hope is the last thing that dies in a man.

I will let this be a lesson and learn from experience (as I mentioned before, this poster was one of the first signed items I'd bought, the one that made me think collecting autographs was to be a fun hobby). Since then I have found dealers I can actually trust, and with the help from you members of Autograph Magazine Live I have found new dealers that have been vouched for, so I will do business with them from now on.

Hi

This is my first post. I've been in the comic book industry for 20 years now and have meet most of the cast at Comic con and gotten their signitures on the above print. I include them for comparrison sake. (Wish I had M. Emmet walsh and Brion James though...)  I AM NO EXPERT...but some of the ones in the original post look hinky to me.  BUT i have to agree that sigs can change from moment to moment...so who knows. The ones I included were signed sitting at a table.  Lemme know what you think!  Michael

PS I called William Sanderson and he will be glad to add his sig when he gets back in the counrty in about 6 months...he's filming ...somewhere.

Included above are Joseph, James, Joanna, Rutger, Daryll, Sean, Ridley, Sid (Mead), Harrison and Edward's sigs all witnesses/obtained by me.
