You won't believe some of the prices for signed Derek Jeter bats and tickets. Is now the time to buy or sell? For my friends on Autograph Magazine Live, my latest Forbes post.

I don't know about crazy, but I'm convinced Mr. Williams is nuts!

Great article, as always. now is not the time to buy, in my opinion

Should be interesting to see how Jeter signs autographs the rest of his life. The more he signs, the less valuable they will be (though many unique items should hold their value or increase, like the ticket in the article, game used items, rookie graphs, etc).....two of the best baseball players of all time, Willie Mays and Hank Aaron have signed so much, their autographs don't bring a premium. All about supply and demand.

I had a ticket stub from his debut game that was in rough shape. I sold it the day after the Yankees won the 2009 World Series for about $600

Jeter is a tough signer, and I don't think he is going to get better as he migrates away from baseball. He wants to pursue his media and publishing endeavors, stay out of the limelight and start a family. I doubt he will continue regular signings with Steiner, if any. In my personal opinion, I think his autograph is going to be much tougher to get after this year.

I saw Steiner is selling game used socks of Jeter for $400.... LOL who in the hell would want someone's stinky ass sock for $400? Anyone who buys that is WEIRD. End of story.

Jeter's autograph prices are ridiculous, he signs TONS for Steiner, on everything imaginable. I suspect his prices will go down eventually, once everyone who is dumb enough to spend $300-$500 for his autograph has it, and Steiner is left with a warehouse of his autographs to sell.

Thurs night, MLB is allowing the Yankees a few extra minutes between innings while Jeter removes his uniform, and puts a new one one. Then Steiner will sell them

The Pope will also be present in the dugout to personally see that the Vatican gets a few pieces of game used memorabilia. He will bring them back to Rome, where Jeter's jersey and socks will purify the papal palace.

The Church is placing these items next to Mariano Rivera's game used toenail (with Steiner Cert) and will charge $15 to view them.

Now is simply not the time to purchase a Derek Jeter autograph.  Steiner will probably run a sale during the off-season.

Maybe. They did that last year with Mariano for the Christmas season.
