I'm guessing this is a secretarial by the way the "S" is formed like an actual "S", not like his usual up and down spiked "S", but since this is from a letter dated 1943 I'm wondering how often he would have used secretarial signatures before he got into office? From what I've been reading, he was more of a 'hands on' kinda guy! Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't often heard of him using a secretarial signature...but that is one. That is definitely not a real Truman autograph, especially from the 1940s.
I thought it odd myself, but there you go!
I've included a copy of the whole letter for your perusal.
