Inexpensive Authentication Service?

Can anyone recommend an the most inexpensive UACC authentication service that would provide a verification letter? I'm trying to get a refund for 3 signed cards/album pages, but it would hardly be worth the money to pay large fees to have it done.

Any suggestions?

Isn't Tom also an authenticator for JSA? So they should accept him.

Yes, Scott. JSA and some auction houses. Tom is my go-to guy on vintage entertainment. Dr. Gary Brucato is very good, too, and a good friend of Tom's. I don't know if he's a UACC-RD, though.

You said you bought the three autographs from Piece of the Past. That's Kevin Martin. 

Kevin Martin knows what a secretarial Lucy and Gleason look like. He doesn't need extra opinions on them. And there are examples all over, especially on this site.

So ask him, why does he need the expertise of someone else to determine if the autographs are real or not? Is he not as good as he says he is?

What's the third autograph? Can you post a link to the discussion on it? I'll be out for a while but I'll take a look when I get back.

I haven't contacted him yet about them - I was just getting my ducks in a row for when I do - I saw what he said he required on his site.

I'd contact Kevin Martin first. The guarantee on the Piece of the Past website isn't necessarily the one that applies to you. The guarantee in effect when you bought them applies. I don't think that the UACC RD started until the late 1990s, so I'd be surprised if that was in his terms.

As long as you have the COA and receipts from your purchase the first step is to contact the seller. If he decides he wants you to jump through hoops for a refund, just tell him you will post all 3 items on AML and Facebook for opinions.

Some dealers can't afford even more bad press.
