William, thanks for posting the seller. I looked at a few of the items listed by the seller, and the Robert Plant, Bob Seger, and Billy Joel items are all fake, IMO. I still think this Brian Wilson is not authentic. This seller, with multiple obvious forgeries, makes me dislike this BW even more.
Completely agree! I looked at another Brian he sold recently on a Wouldn't It Be Nice book; no good for sure. Definetly dodged a bullet. Not a bad forgery however...

Excellent!!

+1 to the comments on this seller. Has a bunch of 'decent' forgeries listed

not sure of ur budget but i have a few signed guitars by brian if ur interested.all done in person

I suppose if you wouldn't buy it yourself, it kind of starts to speak forgery.

Very true, that is why I think knowing as much info as you can on an auto is important.

At first glance this one looked good, minus a few details...With Brian Wilson he can give you a BW or a Br--- W------ or a nice Brian Wilson, or anything in between. This one after looking harder looks plotted.

I say, know as much of the "who" got it signed, "when" it was signed, and "where" it was signed and then try to analyze as much as possible and whatever else they are selling.

The source definetly matters in my book.
Discussions like this are what make this site so valuable. William, I have several BW autographs (of differing levels of "fullness") that I have obtained in person and can send you pics of to help as examples when you are looking at others. Send me a DM if I can help.

Thanks a bunch Devon, and also thanks to everyone else who contributed to this discussion.  I am new to this site and my only regret is that I didn't discover it earlier.  I do think Brian's autograph is "tough" because he does seem to be all over the lot depending on his age, mood etc.  The few I've bought are mostly certified (JSA or PSA) but after spending some time on the forums here... well, you get the idea.  John, thanks for the offers but signed guitars are probably beyond me at this point.

For those who care, I attend booksigning events in NYC frequently and intend to post my personally witnessed signatures on this site in the (apparently seldom used) "personally authenticated signatures" group started by Lynn.  Not all will be of interest to the group but hopefully it will serve as a database.  These will post from time to time as I attend events or uncover signatures in my archive.

Please do William! Thanks for joining AML. Glad to have another Beach Boys fan around!:)

these are both real inperson and u can see the vary alot and probaly had him sign 100 times for me
