Has to be a record for a Hendrix signed album.  Let's hope it's real!

Scruffy scuff thing aside, is all I could think of. It would be enough for me. What kind of Morrison can one buy with $4,400? I would be interesting to be able to look at comparable values easily for these rare greats.

They had some crazy pre auction bids on stuff . No logic

+1.  No logic whatsoever for two bidders to step into this $40K+ territory. Unless technically, there was really only one bidder, bidding against the house. Some of the most outlandish auction results have been obtained for auction items in that fashion.

+1 to that.

yeah I noticed that

Why isn't the photo sharp and large, with closeups of the signature and a photo of the reverse?

Steve I'm out but I'll respond about that and other juliens tommorow

The more I look at it, the more I'm questioning it, particularly the "HE" portion. It has some good traits, but portions of it look drawn although as Steve mentioned the image isn't sharp enough. I tried to get a clearer image, but of course wasn't able to.

at first glance it seems false... but if real 44k for this Hendrix is for mad people..

I dont think it looks right .    I cant imagine that someone really bid that much money for it

Hello! And you know why? Because not only is the signature questionable, IMO, but the piece looks exactly like a textbook example of the end product, when a forger goes thrift shop hunting and returns to his kitchen table with well used thrift shop material. A badly scuffed up, readily available album with ink signed over the wear.

99% of the time, an autograph hound from any era cares enough to get a clean item signed, and then preserves it.

IMO, this piece stinks to high heaven for that reason alone of this being the standard practice of dumb forgers. Skimping $$$ on the medium.

Let's not forget. A forger may have to produce 5 or more forgeries to get one that looks halfway convincing, and even at that, it may take a dozen or a lot more than a dozen tries. This is why cuts are the favored vehicle of the forger.

Well, I just received a nice clear image of the signature and it looks much better. The signature is actually quite a bit bolder than it appears in the auction listing.
