So, I don’t want to officially accuse this guy of forging his autographs, but a few red flags smacked me in the face while I was searching for a Justin Verlander baseball.
1. Verlander doesn’t sign much, but he seems to have an abundance of Verlander baseballs that he’s sold in the past few months... one at a time.
2. He has a ton of in-person autographs of all the stars of several sports... not a lot of lower end guys, which most IP autograph hounds get in addition to the studs.
3. The majority of his signatures look like they were signed by the same hand.
4. Most of his card autographs are signed on extremely common cards. (If you know you’re going to get Tom Brady’s signature, wouldn’t you get it on something more significant than a bargain bin common card?)
5. He has no items authenticated by third parties. This is obviously his business, so why would he sell a Mookie Betts ball for $30 when he can authenticate it for $20 and sell it for $200?
I’m far from an expert on a lot of his signatures, but it just seems super suspect to me.
