Hi,

I bought this signed first edition of Moon Walk from Ira & Larry Goldberg Auctioneers (USA) recently.  Apparently it was signed for the guy who designed some of the figures on MJ's carrousel at Neverland (his ownership stamp is also present).

Any thoughts on authenticity and value?

I thought the group might like to know that Goldsberg Coins & Collectibles (from whom I bought the secretarially-signed MJ book) gave me a full refund.  They were very pleasant (even apologetic) and professional about the whole thing.

It's good to know that there are honest dealers out there.  Full marks to Goldsberg!

Thanks for following up with us. I'm not surprised!

the autograph is genuine, MJ did the same 'B' for this Bob Hall to which he done for Bob Jones who worked for him, the ink is starting to lighten and go a pinkish colour which gives it 'age' of around the early nineties late eighties as a marker to when it was signed,  the 'o'' 'r' and 'a' are all giveaways that this is real, even the half 't' on 'to', the lack of a bigger 'J' in the auto is contributed to space left on the page.

Justin,

It's not genuine. It's a well-known secretarial autograph. Sorry to have to tell you that.

sorry to say it is,had a look at the provenance with who it was signed to and the history,to people who worked for him he signed personally

shame for the person who bought the book and got a refund, the big expansive autographs that i see a lot here classed as real are infact fake.this is from 35 yrs experience

Justin, I really like your "professional" approach to the details of Michael Jackson's signature - rather than a "shoot from the hip" often used approach of "that's a secretarial" or "FAKE" signature without ANY justification! You do Michael proud! THANX!

FYI... On May 23, 1992, Michael Jackson personally anointed me HIS only "Maker of Dreams" for Neverland Valley. On the evening of Oct. 31, 1990, Michael's personal video guy interviewed Robert Nolan "Bob" Hall on the new 50' Grand "The Magic Carrousel" Bob had overseen the creation of for Michael at Chance Rides, Inc. in Wichita, KS where we were both employed at the time. Later that same evening Bob and myself enjoyed a wonderful dinner party with Michael and others at HIS very private NLV residence where Michael first presented both of us a personalized copy in red ink of "Moonwalk" in the living room. Thanx! again, Justin for your professional approach to Michael Jackson's signature.

Michael Jackson secretarials are well known and studied. The one in the original post is definitely secretarial.

Steve, are you referring to the one to Bob Hall?

Yes

Then you are going to tell ME as "Maker of Dreams" for Michael Jackson that he did NOT sign these two (2) First Edition copies of "Moonwalk" on the evening of Oct. 31, 1990 that were laying on the coffee table in the living room of HIS Neverland Valley private residence in the presence of BOTH Bob Hall and myself when standing only about 3 FEET from me??? There was NO SECRETARY present I can assure you at that time and you will NEVER produce ANY evidence to the contrary! How can you be so easily presumptive... and so wrong! I don't get it! Sorry, Steve. Go figure...

I'm sorry, but they are both obvious secretarials IMO. Are you claiming you saw them signed by Michael Jackson?
