Sharpies were introduced in the early 60's. Not sure when they picked up traction for our purposes. Earliest I had was about 1977 or so.

Yeah, I know they've been around since the 60s, but it's so exciting to see the detail in the Ramones signatures that just gets washed out in the ubiquitous modern sharpie sig. Show me a better Joey sig!

I agree - many long time collectors prefer something that scratches the surface - ball point, fountain, steel tip etc. Glad you are enjoying your new peice! :)
