Hello All I apologize if this type of question is totally off base or breaks forum etiquette but I am working on a mystery and the curiosity is really getting to me.
I recently picked up a modified 1999 American Stratocaster guitar. It is a very nice playing guitar. I noticed when I bought the guitar that it had a signature on the body but didn’t pay much attention to it.
Now a week later I am curious to the point that I have been searching through websites for any musician’s autograph that might be even vaguely similar to the one on the guitar. So far I have had no luck.
I am now seeking help from members of this community.
If anybody has any idea of who it might be please let me know.

I am not trying to authenticate it just trying to quell my curiosity for now.

its probably Eric Johnson, who is tied somehow to Fender.
Terrier Thanks Again.
A friend of mine in a local band who is a Eric Johnson "follower" said the same about the signature but we couldn't find good photo's for sure but I will definitely relook.
I have been able to find out that the Guitar was traded Pawned in Texas not to far from Eric's hometown. Reciept from pawn shop was in the case. Supposedly the modifications on the guitar are the same as Eric did on several of his guitars but of course I can't prove anything.
Well if I ever get gutsy enough I can always email Eric Johnson some pictures and ask him.
Thanks Again
