Hi all-

Just wanted to bump this album page of Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall signatures. It's offered right now and I really like it. But, as always, more eyes on it as far as authenticity the better.  A couple of you guys liked the look of it...anyone else have thoughts on it?  Thanks in advance!

100% authentic. Buy with confidence.

The photo is too small and degraded to get the necessary look at it. And what’s on the back? What autographs are on the other side? Keep in mind if they can transfer incredibly good copies of autographs onto things today. Until closely examining something in person, you don’t really know what you’ve got there.

Well, that's true enough, Steve.  I noticed after I posted this that the letters "P" and "Y" in Humphrey perfectly touch the Bacall "B".  The "G" in Bogart does the same with the last "L" in Bacall.  There is no intersecting of those letters on top of each other...which makes me now think was drawn deliberately.

Dealer says it has a JSA cert.  .....  if that makes a difference.

This looks like old ink on an old album page. The Bacall autograph looks right. By at least, on a 1955 contract she dropped the deep downstrokes on her a's in her signature. The downstroke on the Bacall A, looks like the Bacall photo was placed over the signature. To the left of the Bacall photo, there seems to be paper distortion and slight discoloration from the photo attached on the reverse. Etienne, It would be nice of you to show the autograph on the reverse side, to see if the Bogart and Bacall  photos are also distorted and discolored. In my humble opinion the Bacall is right, most likely making the Bogart right…..Unless there is no distortion and discoloration under the Bogart photo. Making me think the Bogart photo and signature were added later.

Unfortunately, a scan of the verso is not on the dealer's site...just this image.  Is that hard downstroke in the "B" in Bogart something you guys have seen before?  I can't find an exemplar of him that has it. It looks similar to the downstrokes in the Bacall.

They signatures look fine to me.

Who is the seller?

The dealer website for these signatures is:

www.leadinglightsautographs.com

Does anybody know anything about them?

They are fine. It's a bit expensive, though. I wouldn't pay more than $700

Etienne, Ask the seller for an image of the reverse. A nice clear one. Look for the distortion and discoloration behind the Bogart photo….not to mention the Bacall. The Bogart and Bacall autographs overlap at the P and B. Since I don't have a 10x power loupe or scope to see if the Bogart G is on top of the Bacall L, my bet is the Bacall was signed first because she has the prime center spot. I have NO Bogarts in my collection. For the money you would pay for Bogart, if the seller won't give you the reverse photo, don't buy it. Bogart is not a rare autograph…Don't forget about those 3rd party opinions. the have more exemplars of Bogart the myself.

Etienne, For your money, tell the seller, send the reverse photo….Today I had JSA 3rd party a 5 star Fleet Admiral Nimitz and Halsey and Marshall 8x10 photos…..Not to mention an I lost to  General Washington at Yorktown Charles Cornwallis cut. If my buyer  wanted photos from the back , I would jump thru all the hoops the buyer demanded. It is your hard earned money. You would be buying the front and the back of the album page, get all the information you can get…..I my humble opinion.

Haven't had much success with emails.  I  sent one a couple of weeks ago asking if there was any flexibility on the price and I did not hear anything back.
